Dental Braces Treatment in Mexico

By any chance have you noticed that you bite yourself somewhere in your mouth, or even that your jaw screeches, hurts, pops, or you just feel discomfort? If your answer is yes, then you are in need of some serious dental braces, also known as orthodontics.

When yout upper and lower jaws are not properly aligned, they are creating an uneven bite. Correcting these problems will create a better looking smile and a healthier mouth.

Treating this problem in our Denticenter® clinic in Mexico, can help you feel and look great, but you need to know the following 7 important things.

7 things you need to know about Orthodontics – Dental Braces

1. Braces are orthodontic appliances used to correct teeth alignment.

2. Brackets attach to each tooth and are made of metal, ceramic, plastic or a combination of these materials.

3. Some brackets are clear or tooth-colored and others allow for colorful bands to be attached.

4. Adult treatments usually takes longer than a child’s treatment.

5. Most will wear braces from 1 to 3 years and the length of time will be determined based on the conditions that need correcting.

6. Follow up visits will be necessary to allow for adjustments to the braces because it takes time for the teeth to move.

7. The frequency of adjustments will depend on the treatment plan, but will often begin with monthly visits and decrease over time.

What you need to know about your dental braces in our Denticenter® Clinic

After an initial consultation, X-rays, molds and impressions will be taken of the patient’s teeth. The dentist will use this information to determine the best treatment plan and appliances for your condition.

There are 2 types of braces that may be used: fixed, which are worn until being removed only by the dentist or orthodontist, and removable, which can be removed by the patient.

Dental cement is used to attach the brackets to the teeth and the wires are threaded between the brackets in order to move the teeth to their correct positions.

Sometimes orthodontics spaces are inserted between the molars to allow for the use of molar bands at a later date. Elastic bands are used to hold the wires and brackets in place. Elastic comes in all different colors, which the patient can change at each adjustment appointment.
